What is our Key to Key Repair Service?
It is a complete repair service for your car. We take care of everything from the time you give us your keys until the time we give them back to you.
Getting Started
The estimate is an evaluation of visible exterior damages to your vehicle, and sometimes additional damage is found after the vehicle is disassembled. This additional damage is recognized by the insurance company as supplemental repairs, and we will handle all supplements on your behalf. There will be no further cost to you on supplemental repairs.
Approval
Having a copy of our estimate will provide your insurance company with the repair facility you have chosen. After you receive an estimate from us we will negotiate the repairs with the insurance company on your behalf. Some insurance companies will provide you with their own estimate or even steer you to one of their partnered repair shops. Rest assured this is not a problem, for we work with all insurance companies, and it's your legal right to have your vehicle repaired at a shop of your choice.
Appointment and Part Ordering
Once we have approval from you and the insurance company we can arrange for a rental car, set up an appointment to drop off the vehicle, and order parts. If your car is not drivable, we can arrange to have it towed in. At anytime during the estimating process, if we deem your car unsafe to drive, we will get you into a rental car and start to disassemble your vehicle to find additional hidden damages. We will do everything we can to complete the repairs promptly without compromising the quality and safety of the work.
Disassembly and Repair
Your vehicle will have the damaged parts removed and we will search for any hidden damages. Starting with structure repairs, if any, we use an advanced laser measuring system to ensure your vehicle repairs meet factory specified tolerances. Once the structure is aligned, the new body panels are installed onto the vehicle to insure proper fit.
Painting
Before any PPG paint finish is applied to your vehicle's body panels, all panels must be prepared properly. This process includes sanding, masking, and cutting in (painting of jams and hidden areas that still require paint). After prep, all panels are primed and sealed. These steps ensure proper adhesion of color and clear coats. Then the panels are painted, first with the color coat, and then with the clear coat. When all coats have been applied, your vehicle is then baked in our paint booth. After the paint is dried, we sand and buff the freshly painted panels to provide the factory texture the rest of your vehicle possesses.
Assembly
The last step in the repair process is installing all the parts on the vehicle including any moldings, glass, and trim pieces, followed by any mechanical service such as air conditioning charge, four wheel alignment, coolant check, and electrical resets as needed.
Completion
We will wash your vehicle before you are notified of completion. After cleaning, we will do a final inspection to make sure all repairs were performed as prescribed on your estimate, and that your vehicle is in its pre-accident condition. We will then contact you for pickup. At delivery, we will review the final bill, collect any funds due, and go over the repairs with you. After you have your car back in your procession, if you have any questions or concerns, we invite you to bring the vehicle back to the shop so we can look over the repair work and make any adjustments that may be needed at no cost to you. Just one more thing that we do to ensure our customers are satisfied with the repair work.
